The 2009 Hyundai Genesis, unveiled in January at the Detroit Auto Show, received five-star crash test ratings for both frontal and side-impact crash tests.
Part of this may be due to the Genesis’ eight airbags: dual front airbags, front and rear seat-mounted side-impact airbags, and roof-mounted side curtain airbags for both front and rear outboard seat occupants. Other safety items on the Hyundai are Electronic Stability Control (ESC) and electronic active head restraints.
